SFL – Flavor of the Month Card Kit – November 2020 – Simply Sentimental

Hello my dear crafty friends! It has been a wild and wondrous ride over the past 3 and 3/4 years! I am soooo very thankful that you all supported the Flavor of the Month kit and helped me to realize a dream. It is with gratefulness and gratitude that I bring you this fantastic last kit “Simply Sentimental”. We have very few kits available so you will not want to hesitate at all. Run, run, run to the website to get the final Flavor of the Month kit for yourself. Make sure to enter the Rafflecopter as well!

Collection 1, Sketch 1

How sweet is this puppy! I trimmed my pattern paper as shown in the sketch. I stamped the puppy with Copic friendly ink and colored with Copic Markers. I used a black gel pen to add dash lines around the outside. I used 3 sequins to to finish the card.

Collection 2, Sketch 4

I trimmed the pattern paper as shown in the sketch. (I did have trouble with that angled piece! Yikes!) I didn’t get the center of that angled pattern paper just right so I used a mini scallop circle die to cut out the sentiment I stamped onto white card stock. I added that with foam adhesive and covered that area that didn’t look quite right! I added a little of the ribbon to the top of that piece and finished the card with 3 enamel dots from the collection.

Collection 3, Sketch 4

I love the colors in this collection. I again trimmed my pattern paper as shown in the sketch. I stamped the sentiment with a bright pink ink that matched the pink polka dot paper. I used a circle die to cut that and added three of the paper flowers found in the collection.

Collection 4, Sketch 2

I thought the paper in this collection was absolutely gorgeous. I stamped the sentiment on white card stock and used distress ink to color the card stock. As usual, I trimmed all my pattern patter pieces as shown on the sketch. I finished the card by using some of the ephemera from the collection in the area that shows “flowers” in the sketch.

BONUS CARD

I did made an extra card this month using the Banana Split portion of the card kit. This included the heart embossing folder, the banner die cut and the ribbon! The sentiment is from Collection 2.

SFL – Flavor of the Month Card Kit – September 2020 Card Kit – Orchards and Patches

Fall is here! Let’s take a trip to the Apple Orchard or maybe you want to go to the Pumpkin Patch! A little story about pumpkin patches…I started scrapbooking when our first grandchild was born. And boy did I love documenting everything about his growth. When he was 3 I wanted to take him to a pumpkin patch for the sole purpose of being able to do a photo shoot there and as a result create a scrapbook page. So whether you scrapbook or make cards, make sure you enjoy the fall weather and do something fun! Our Guest and Design Team has some fabulous project to share with the September kit “Orchards and Patches.” Please visit Scrapping for Less to get your kit. Also enter the Rafflecopter on the SFL blog post for a chance to win a prize!

Card 1, Sketch 1

How sweet is this image/sentiment?? I followed the sketch as shown and used the image/sentiment from the stamp set for the circle portion of the card sketch. I colored the image with Copic Markers and added some Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush.

Card 2, Sketch 3

This gnome is so perfect for fall and I love the sentiments in this stamp set. This sketch is for a slimline card, which is longer than 6 inches so I had to use 2 different patterns, which I really like. I colored the gnome with Copic Markers and added him with foam adhesive. The sentiment is from the stamp set. I stamped with Versamark ink and used white embossing powder. I trimmed that with an oval die and added some Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges. I also die cut 3 leaves using one of the dies I received in my banana split pack in this kit. I also used the Vintage Photo Distress Ink on those as well. I then popped up the sentiment with foam adhesive.

Card 3, Sketch 2

The pattern paper in this collection is gorgeous! I trimmed down 3 of them as shown in the card sketch. I didn’t want my card base to be solid so I grabbed the stencil from the banana split pack and used the Sunflower image and Peeled Paint Distress Ink to add some interest to my card base. Once that was done, I added the ribbon to the card base with tape runner and then put my rectangle pieces over that. I wrapped my ribbon around, adhered it with tape runner and added a button from the collection where those 2 ends meet.

Card 4, Sketch 4

This collection has the cutest paper. This screams fall to me. Pumpkin picking, hayrides and Pumpkin Pie!  “Secret Phrase is Who doesn’t love pumpkin pie?”  I trimmed a piece of card stock to create a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card base. I trimmed my pattern paper as shown on the sketch and used a piece of ephemera for my sentiment.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Banana Split

Collection 1, Sketch 2

This card was a little difficult for me to get these circles spaced correctly! But once I did no crafty “ooppss” was going to have me quit on this card! I used the Pineapple stencil from the Banana Split pack to the front panel with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and then added 2 pieces of the ephemera from the collection. I used the ‘Tropical State of Mind” sentiment on some white card stock and cut that down from the lower, right corner – adding 3 enamel dots. I then grabbed the Blushing Red Nuvo Crystal drops that we received in last months kit to finish the front. On the inside I stamped Happy Birthday and the Flamingo from the stamp set and added just touches of pink to the bird.

Collection 2, Sketch 3

I love the sentiment in this set and how fun are the pattern papers! I basically followed the sketch using the fishtail sentiment die to cut the banner pieces. I used the twine from the collection and added one of the Pineapple images from the stamp set. On the inside, I added the Sentiment and 1 lemon image from the stamp set. I used a single yellow Copic to add a little color to the lemon slice.

Collection 3, Sketch 4

This Ocean scene was the perfect choice for this sketch! I loved that the papers are different watery backgrounds, they really let the colored image stand out. I added some Diamond Stickles here and there on the image to add some sparkle. On the inside, I kept it simple with just a simple “Thank You”.

Collection 4, Sketch 1

The paper in this collection are so bright and I love there isn’t much of a pattern. These papers were perfect for this sketch. I was able to trim those thin pieces and not worry about images. On the inside, I simply added a scrap piece to the bottom.

Thank You so Much for checking out my blog today.

SFL – Flavor of the Month Card Kit – June 2020 – A Walk In The Park

Hey let’s go take a walk in the park! With everything going on today we can most certainly go with our families and/or friends….less than 10 people though! So, let’s wander through a lovely park, have a picnic lunch, play on the slide, catch frogs by the pond, and act like monkeys on the monkey bars! Those are all the components of the kit this month! You can find how to order on the Subscription page! And don’t forget to enter the Rafflecopter.

Card 1, Collection 1, Sketch 1

How cute are these ants! There is a lot of ephemera in this collection. The stamp set matches the paper perfectly for even more cards!

Card 2, Collection 2, Sketch 3

How fun are these Monkey Buddies!! The sentiment in this stamp set is perfect for all that’s going on right now. The pattern paper in this collection is ADORABLE!

Card 3, Collection 3, Sketch 4

This Card is my favorite. The stamp set in this collection allows you to create scenes or use images by themselves. I chose to create a fun scene! I think the frogs on the pattern paper are so much fun!

Card 4, Collection 4, Sketch 2

Collection 4 is so bright and cheerful! I colored my slide to match my papers. A lot of playgrounds have these bright, colorful play pieces. Playground equipment has come a long way since I was a child! On the inside, I added the sentiment from the stamp set and stamped the slide in London Fog Memento Ink.

SFL – Flavor of the Month – Let’s Encourage One Another – May 2020 Card Kit

Easy
Nice
Caring
Opportunity
Unite
Refreshing
Applaud
Giving
Exhilarate
Motivation
Excite
Nurture
Thoughtful

Hello Cardmakers! I hope you are doing well this morning. This month’s theme is all about encouragement. How about taking one of the words in the acronym above and making it your word for the coming month? My word is going to be motivation! Motivation to send out at least 3 cards a week to encourage someone. The design team and guest designers this month have created some absolutely fabulous designs with the card kit contents. Hop on through and take a look. One person I know who encourages people each and every day is Courtney Kreeber, she has helped design components of this month’s kit. Her group Handmade Happiness over on Facebook is all about encouraging each other. Who have you encouraged today? Check out this wonderful card kit centered around encouragement over on the Scrapping for Less website. Also check out the SFL blog post and make sure to enter the Rafflecopter.

Card 1, Collection 1, Sketch 4

Benny the Bigfoot is so sweet! I trimmed my pattern paper to follow the sketch and added my image. I stamped out the sentiment “Love Big” from the stamp set onto one of the hearts but it was with black ink. I grabbed a white gel pen and wrote out the sentiment and I liked that better. On the inside I added a strip of scrap and the image of the foot from the stamp set.

Card 2, Collection 2, Sketch 2

This card was my favorite! I stamped and colored all the images in the set. I trimmed the pattern paper to follow the sketch. Instead of putting the sentiment on as shown in the sketch, I decided to add it to the oval piece. I added one lemon and a flower to that piece. On the inside, I added another strip of scrap paper and a lemon slice.

Card 3, Collection 3, Sketch 3

This collection was so BRIGHT and CHEERFUL! I matted all the pattern paper on black card stock so the colors would pop. I stamped and colored the images with Copic Markers. The sun image is solid on the outside so I stamped that with yellow ink and filled the center using Copic Markers. I added Diamond Stickles to the cloud and some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to the Rainbow. On the side, I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set and 2 cloud images.

Card 4, Collection 4, Sketch 1

This collection has some great ephemera. I did color the lady bug image from the stamp set; that was my original design for the front. However, after I trimmed my pattern paper as seen on the sketch, I thought the larger lady bug ephemera pieces fit nicer. I added some enamel dots from the collection in the lower, right hand corner. On the inside, I added a strip of scrap and a small lady bug ephemera piece along with the sentiment from the stamp set.

SFL Flavor of the Month – City Streets and Country Roads – April 2020 Card Kit

City Streets and Country Roads! I am a country/small town girl at heart but oh those city streets and the hustle and bustle of a city is very exciting! Which do you prefer? This month’s theme is a little bit travel themed and a little bit hometown themed. Join the Design Team as they share inspiration for all these wonderful collections. Make sure to stop by the website and either purchase a one time kit or sign up for a subscription. Also, please enter the rafflecopter for a chance to win a prize. *Disclaimer: I know most of you are Staying Safe at home…please know this theme was planned way before all this happened.

Collection 1, Sketch 2

How fun is this paper! The stamp has both a super girl and a super boy. I chose the Super Girl and the sentiment “You’re Amazing”! I put an enamel dot on each side of the sentiment to fill in the white space. The star is an image from the stamp set; I stamped out 3 times, colored and fussy cut. I added Nuvo Glitter Drops in Yellow Bird (Not Included) to the stars.

Collection 2, Sketch 1

The paper in this collection is so pretty. I especially love the one I used as the main panel. I stamped the image from the stamp set, colored it with Copic markers and cut it out with the scan ‘n cut. I added some Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush to the scooter. I roughly followed the sketch and I loved the way this card came out!

Collection 3, Sketch 3

I love the image from this collection but I found it a little intimidating to color with Copics markers so I grabbed some color pencils (the good ol’ Crayola kind). This is the first time I have colored with color pencils. Once the image was colored I added it to the card with the sentiment. To finish this card, I added 3 enamel dots from the collection

Collection 4, Sketch 4

I changed a few things from the sketch to fit my vision. I wanted to add both characters onto one tag but they didn’t fit. I also originally wanted to use the blue fabric tag but my character didn’t fit. So, I removed the twine from the blue tag and add it to this white fabric tag. I stamped the sentiment from the sentiment onto the tag and added my character with Ranger’s Multi Medium Matte to make sure it stuck to the fabric tag. I added the tag with foam adhesive and finished the card with Spectrum Noir Glitter Brush to the cowgirl’s hat.

double dip jan

banana split Jan.jpg

Hello Everyone!  I am so excited about this month’s kit.  There are some great images to color and I really love that all the pattern paper found in the collections is double sided.  I have a love/hate relationship with double sided paper – especially when I LOVE both sides, but it gives so much opportunity for different cards when making cards with just the kit or just the collection.

Card 1, Collection 1, Sketch 2

collection1a

This card sketch was PERFECT for the ephemera that I received in this collection.  I also love how this sketch shows off the many patterns of paper included without using too much.  I cut down the top strip and bottom 2 strips to just a quarter inch, which still leaves plenty of pattern paper for more cards.

Card 2, Collection 2, Sketch 4

Donut3A.jpg

Who can resist Newton?  This little kitty is super cute hanging from the donut and the paper found in this collection was some of my favorite.  I hand stamped Newton and colored him with Copic markers.  I then fussy cut him (which was fairly easy) and adhered him to the card with foam tape.  I love the sentiment “Life is better with sprinkles”; I thought it was fitting since I really love sprinkles!

Card 3, Collection 3, Sketch 1

collection2a

Mini Marci is adorable as ever!  I hand stamped her and colored her to match the bold and bright patterns found in this collection.  I added the cup, spoon and 2 mini coffee bean stickers; I liked they had a little dimension to them.  To finish off the card, I added some stitched lines with a black gel pen around the circle.

Card 4, Collection 4, Sketch 3

collect 4a

Brew It Anya is full of New Year spirit with “You can Brew It”!  This sweet and sassy image was hand stamped and colored with Copic markers.  She was fussy cut and added to the card with foam tape.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  If you’d like to see what I received in my kit, please check out my  unboxing video on my YouTube channel.

Double Dip

Banana Split

Hello Everyone and thank you for hopping along with us during the November FOTM Card Kit Reveal Blog Hop!  I made 4 cards to share with you today and I used each of the sketches provided to go along with this kit.

Collection 1, Sketch 4

butterflyA

This gorgeous image from this collection is by Scrapping for Less and is called “What if I Fly”.  This image was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with charcoal embossing powder from my stash.  I cut the image out with an oval die and used Spun Sugar Distress Ink to add a little color to the edge of the cut out image.  I used the glitter paper and one of the butterfly embellishments that were in this collection.

Collection 2, Sketch 3

floralA

The stamp set in this collection is called “Bloom” by Scrapping for Less.  This image was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  A mix of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers were used to color in this floral image.  I then used an oval die to cut out the flowers and Spun Sugar Distress Ink was used along the edges.  Various pattern papers were cut and adhered to black card stock so it would stand out from the pattern it was layered on.  Sequins finish this card.

Collection 3, Sketch 2

SantoroA

This sweet Santoro Girl was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens.  I chose the real brush pens because of all the delicate lines in this image.  Various pattern paper from the kit followed the sketch design and a few sequins finish this card.

Collection 4, Sketch 1DapperA

The hat from the stamp set “Dapper Man” by Scrapping for Less was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  The hat was stamped again on some scrap pattern paper and the band around the hat was cut from that and added to the image.  Various pattern paper from this collection was cut down and put on black card stock to help it stand out from the other patterns.  The smaller of the 2 Metal Arrows by Tim Holtz finishes this card.

allA

If you’re interested in this kit, you can head over to the Scrapping for Less website to order yours.

I have an unboxing/reveal video up on my YouTube Channel if you’d like to see exactly what I received in my kit.

Next up on the hop is Courtney!
