Scrapping for Less – October Flavor of the Month Card Kit – Christmas Around the World

I was an elementary school teacher for many years. During Christmas time for Social Studies we studied Christmas traditions around the world. This was my absolute favorite time of the year with my students. So, for our Christmas Around the World card kit I have chosen my most favorite countries we studied to feature.

Mexico: Great food and wonderful traditions centered around Papa Noel.
Sweden: St. Lucia was my favorite tradition in Sweden we studied.
Australia: My students got the biggest kick out of the fact that it was hot and summer there during Christmas.
Germany: Of course what would a study be without studying the origin of the Christmas tree.

Please sit back and enjoy the elements we put together for our Christmas Around the World Flavor of the Month Card Kit. Make sure you leave our designers some love on their blog and hop back to the SFL blog to enter the Rafflecopter. You can purchase the kit on Scrapping for Less on the Subscription page.

Card 1, Collection 1, Sketch 3

Card 1 is fairly simple, I stamped out the Papa Noel image and colored him with Copic Markers. I trimmed down various pieces of pattern paper found from the kit and finished the card with red stickles.

Card 2, Collection 2, Sketch 1

I stamped out the Santa and Palm Tree images found in collection 2 and colored this scene with Copic Markers. I cut the scene and a mat with circle dies and added to the card with foam adhesive. I took one of the paper flag pieces and wrapped it around one of the wooden “flag pole” pieces. I stamped the sentiment onto the flag and added with liquid glue. I finished the card by added 3 enamel dots from the collection.

Card 3, Collection 3, Sketch 4

I absolutely love the pattern paper in this collection. I cut down a few of my favorites; following the sketch. I stamped out the image and colored her with Copic Markers. I used some Tumbled Glass distress oxide around the image and finished with a few sequins around the image.

Card 4, Collection 4, Sketch 2

This tree is an almost solid image. I chose to stamp in green to try to match the pattern paper as best as I could with the inks that I had. This collection had some pretty gold foil and there is a sentiment meant to go with the foil if you have a laminating machine. I do not have a laminating machine so I needed to get creative with my foil. I decided to use a piece of sizzix double sided adhesive sheet and die cut a snowflake. I removed the backing; revealing the adhesive and put my gold foil over the top and rubbed the foil to the snowflake. The foil stuck right to it and created this pretty snowflake that matches the papers on my card.

In my Banana Split pack, I had some Diamond Stickles which I used to add some sparkle and dimension to my tree. I then added one of the chipboard pieces found in Collection 4 and finished my card with 3 enamel dots also found in this collection.

Thank You So Much for stopping by!
