July! What is another summer activity you enjoy? Lots of folks love summer camping and kids love going to camp. I spent 3 summers of my career life as a summer camp director at a girl’s week long resident camp…it was hard work but yet super satisfying. I loved seeing the girls (most of them were city girls) being exposed to nature, hiking, and the outdoors. We have a great kit for you this month. All about camping and the outdoors! So grab your computer, a beverage, maybe go out on your back porch (so you are outdoors) and hop along and view the most wonderful inspiration from our Design Team and guest designers! You can purchase your kit from our subscription page…links for 1x purchases are in the paragraph to the left of the slider on that page. Make sure to enter the rafflecopter for a chance to win a past kit. Hope you enjoy this month! Happy Camping!
Hello Everyone! This kit was so much fun for me because I haven’t used camping theme products for card making prior to these cards. I absolutely LOVE camping and creating these cards made me realize how much I miss it – camping that is!
Card 1, Collection 1, Sketch 3
How fun is this paper! This was a fairly easy card to make. The pattern paper was so fun and different from any that I have. I trimmed down paper using a variety of stitched dies. I hand stamped, colored and fussy cut the camper image from the stamp set. I thought it would be perfect for where the circle is showing on the sketch. I then used the round rhinestones from the collection to add a little bling!
For the inside of the card, I trimmed the “scrap” piece of paper into this fun shape and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set. I then used one of the stickers included in this collection because I thought the compass was perfect to go with the sentiment.
Card 2, Collection 2, Sketch 1
This card is my favorite and the most time consuming! I started by stamping all the images (some more than once) and colored them in with Copic markers. Once the critters were all cut out, I started on my background. For the background, I used a cloudy stencil die and a variety of distress inks. I also cut a piece of green card stock for the ground space. Once all that was done, I arranged my scene. The “Adventure” embellishment is 1 of several wooden embellishments included in the collection. I colored it with a green Copic marker and used liquid glue to adhere it to the card front.
For the inside of this card, I stamped the sentiment and 2 of the critters from the stamp set found in this collection. (PS – there are A LOT of images and sentiments – great for scene building). I added 2 toasted marshmallows on sticks and called it done!!
Card 3, Collection 3, Sketch 2
How CUTE are these bears? I tried to think a tiny bit outside of the box for these tags that were included with this collection. I decided I would use them more as a “mat” for my pattern paper and I love the way they turned out! I just used a circle die to cut the pattern paper and tried to center them. I stamped out all the images and ended up using 2. I thought the 2 bears on the front were perfect for the pattern paper. I added some sequins from the collection to finish the front.
I love the inside of this card! I used a small scrap on the side and added one of the bear images roasting a marshmallow – which is perfect for the sentiment “I love you smore!”
Card 4, Collection 4, Sketch 4
I absolutely love this stamp set! I love that it includes a boy stamp. This card was created by cutting down lots of pattern paper as shown in the sketch. I then used the leaves included in the collection and had them sticking out of the center panel. I cut some of them down to spread them out and create less bulk. I chose to add the boy camper to the front, then finish the card by putting lots of the smallest rhinestones all over the front.
On the inside I used the “Let’s” stamp and “wander & explore” to create the sentiment (both found in the stamp set) and added our girl camper.
Thank You all so much for stopping by today!
